A nice copy of this First Edition. Reasonably clean but somewhat chipped protected dust wrapper*. No significant dirt a little to the rear panel). No tears, but a few small chips, and one larger chip to the base of the spine (1" x 1/2"). A little bumping / edge wear to the wrapper, with some rubbing to the spine edges. Neatly clipped. The book itself is very clean and tidy, with no significant damage to it. Neat inscription to the ffep. Book has wartime economy paper and so is a little browned in parts. (*All our wrappers are protected in removable clear plastic film). Book was winner of the 1941 Latin American Prize for the best novel.; 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall
