Waugh, Evelyn When the Going Was Good London Duckworth 1946 First Edition Cloth & Original Wraps Very Good + Good- 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall First Edition WITH DUSTWRAPPER. (very rare in wrapper) 318 pp. Wrapper is Good Minus. Has significant wear, but is fully intact. Wear to all of top and bottom edge, including slight chipping. large chip to bottom of spine with loss of part of publishers name. smaller chip to top of spine with slight loss of letter of title. Corners of flap chipped, with 3" closed tear to rear flap edge and 3" closed tear to front. There is also rubbing to the spine edge, with some loss of paper. Not clipped. The jacket has very little dirt to it, with a little darkening to the white. Book itself is in very Good + condition. Slight darkening to top edge of cloth. Pages themselves are very clean and without foxing or dirt. A touch of dirt (pale ink) to ffep verso. A very nice copy. Selections from the four travel books written by Waugh between 1929 and 1935; Price: 130.00 GBP
