James, Henry The Other House London Heinemann 1897 First Thus Cloth Fair No Jacket 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall This is the Once Volume edition of this work, in the first variant binding. (Four Tulips stamped in blind to the front board rather than nine). A fair copy. boards are a little darkened and rubber. Spine particularly is quite darkened and a little creased. Bumped top and bottom. The gilt is faded. Not too much dirt. Internally there is minimal dirt and no inscriptions. An area of rubbing to ffep suggests inscription may have been removed. The book has a bit of a lean to it. The page after the title (States "Book First" to it) has two chips to the top (no loss of text) Page 7 has small chip (no loss of text) otherwise no problems. This is the rarer variant of the binding. I can see no other listing of this on line. Price: 93.75 GBP
